Russian Circles + REZN

music EN friendly
Russian Circles return to Prague again, after sold out shows in recent years at Lucerna Music Bar, they announce their biggest Prague concert yet.

The American trio Russian Circles has been a staple of the hard guitar scene since their formation in 2004. The band's name was inspired by the eponymous drill of skating in ice hockey practice. Founding band members Mike Sullivan and Dave Turncrantz grew up in St. Louis and as avid Blues fans, played hockey themselves from a young age. In 2022, the band was vocal in its support of Ukraine.

The Chicago trio will present their still current album Gnosis on Saturday 13th October 2024 at Prague's ARCHA+ venue. They will be accompanied by "natives" REZN, who will perform in Prague for the first time ever. The event is organized by ARCHA+ in cooperation with Full Moon magazine and Pushteek label. When Chicago trio Russian Circles released their album Blood Year in 2019, no one expected what would happen a few months later. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the world tour for this record, which was postponed several times, finally took place in 2022, but since then Mike Sullivan, Dave Turncatz and Brian Cook have hardly stopped. The still-current Gnosis was released in the summer of 2022, and the band has toured extensively since then, including appearances at summer festivals and a live collaboration with Cult of Luna. However, a solo European tour is coming up now, and Prague is once again on the calendar.
