Indie-rock sensation returns to Prague. In addition to an explosion of musical flavours and infectious melodies, they will also present their new album Oh! The Ocean, which will be released in February 2025. It will offer a more mature and honest insight into the darkest corners of the band's mind.

The Wombats are one of the most prominent figures on the current indie-rock scene. The Liverpool trio have been entertaining fans around the world since 2003, especially with their unique charisma, catchy choruses and heartfelt lyrics with a touch of irony.

The proof is the song Let's Dance to Joy Division from their debut platinum album Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation (2007), which is still one of their most successful songs today. But it's primarily the live performances that put The Wombats in the indie scene's imaginary hall of fame. It's no wonder then that this band have taken to the stages of festivals around the world in the past, including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and Lollapalooza. Following the success of Fix Yourself Not The World (2022), The Wombats are back. And as they themselves say: better than ever.

The new Oh! The Ocean, due out on 21 February 2025, promises to teeter on the edge of the deep emotional honesty and playful, catchy melodies so popular with fans of the Liverpool trio.

The album was produced with the help of producer John Congleton, who has previously worked with Wallows, Death Cab for Cutie and St Vincent. That it will be the most musically interesting work the band has released so far, The Wombats have taken a bite with the brand new single Blood on the Hospital Floor. "Sometimes things aren't as bad as they first appear. That's why I named the song that way - when you wipe the blood off the hospital floor, you just wipe the mess, and you move on like nothing happened," frontman Matthew Murphy said of the song. He wrote it as a form of coming to terms with his own thoughts, and hopes it will have the same effect on listeners.

Now stalwarts of the indie-rock scene, the song Greek Tragedy found success on the social platform TikTok in 2021. It has nearly 200 million plays on Spotify, and the band even released a special TikTok remix of it. Despite a growing fan base among teenagers, the new era of The Wombats promises a more mature, honest and open view of the world through the eyes of musicians who have been through both sad and joyful moments in their careers. After an electrifying show at Lucerna Music Bar, this unbridled crew is now heading to the ARCHY+ space. Don't miss the concert of a band that, even after all these years, rightfully holds a place among the best that the indie-rock scene has to offer!
