Slovak evening and no other: Slovaks will come alive. Anthem for the 21st Century & Slovak feast

theatre café fundraiser performance
Another in a series of composed evenings in support of Slovak artists and Slovak culture. ARCHA+ responds not only to the dubious statement of the Slovak Minister of Culture, but above all to the destruction of Slovak culture that is taking place in Slovakia.

19.00
Uhol_92: Slovaks come alive. An anthem for the 21st century
Dragun, Rázusová, Vollmann

Young director Alžběta Vrzgula, in her role as curator (Uhol_92), approached three Slovak directorial personalities to respond to the fictional (visionary?) task of searching for a new Slovak national anthem.

Adam Dragun: REPRISE
A minimalist production about a man who one day is overcome with fear that he is doomed to spend the rest of his life reliving a scene he saw in the theatre as a child. You know, someone once told me that time is a flat circle. Everything we have ever done or will ever do, we will do again and again and again. (True Detective S01E05)

Julie Rasmus: REMEMBER ME A LAND WITHOUT PEOPLE
Ivana Gibova, a representative of Slovak writing, a potential memory of the nation, recollected our country according to the model of a woman in her thirties.  "We are no longer national builders, because the nation has fallen asleep so hard that it cannot be awakened. We are no longer revivalists because there is nothing left to revive."

Silvia Vollmann: FAR ABOVE THE TATRAS IS DEPRESSION
A provocative one-man show by Peter Ondrejicku, in which he is alone and burnt out like almost everyone in this republic. Peter Ondrejička would like to be topical, but he can't manage that, because by the time he learns the lyrics, there's bound to be something new going on again.

21.00
PiNKBUS: Slovak feast
PiNKBUS salutes the forests of the mountains, from this soul salutes them!

We belong to the Slovak culture. We ARE Slovak culture. Whether MADAM likes it or not. Let's change traditions together!
It's time for "rejoicing" because Slovak culture is only Slovak and no other. At a time when traditional values, countryside and folklore are being promoted on one side and queer or urban people on the other, the nation is looking for penetration and trying to understand both camps.
And there is nothing better than music! From the Tatras to the Danube to Grazing Girl Peacocks, Eugen Suchoň to Marika Gombitová.

is a platform that protects mainly queer artists and brings a new creative wave to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It follows the tradition of Prague cabarets and variety shows and spices it up with a dose of the rising trend – drag queens. The creators respond to the strong global growth of drag culture and bring it to the Czech and Slovak context.

Interest in this type of art and performance has grown immensely and has spread beyond the LGBT community. It opens a discussion on the most topical issues of today's society such as sexuality, nudity, freedom, physicality and the cult of beauty. The creators are convinced of the need to build a platform for the queer art scene more and more every day. Creating a safe space that spreads awareness and connects people is more important than ever
