Bad Names Label Night
The genre will be an unexpected encounter between experimental electronic music, club music, and adventurous songwriting. The event will feature the poetically noisy post-music duo, the electropop band Viah, the artpop singer-songwriter Lichnovský, the acoustic poet Dominik Zezula, the electronic experimenter TMA, the R&B artist Tomáš Havlen, and the club storyteller nevertouch. At the end of the evening, the performers will move behind the mixing desks for DJ sets.
Bad Names started nine years ago with the album Pale Blue Dot by Sundays On Clarendon Road. An album about aging, the universe, and friendship. From the beginning, Bad Names was mainly about friendship and community. That's why January 2025 kicked off a time-floating compilation. With new energy, old and new faces, but with the same desire to belong somewhere and have someone to share their musical journey with.
Bad Names are Dominik Zezula, i s tebou, Lichnovský, Lukas Landa, Margo, nevertouch, post-hudba, Sundays On Clarendon Road, TMA, Tomáš Havlen, Yasmina Melliti, viah.
post-hudba
Tomáš Havlen and Dominik Zezula will present their latest album, entitled Nad prázdnou nocí kroužili sokoli (Falcons Circled Above the Empty Night). In it, they delve into the murkier waters of post-punk, guitar riffs, and abstract gothic. Their lyrics capture the dystopia of contemporary existence, which they transform into hints of folk horror.
Viah
This Prague-based electropop band consists of the musical trio Vi, Rosa, Tomáš, and visual artist Nina. Dance beats and sound experiments support delicate harmonies and introverted lyrics. This year's album Saudade represents a new creative path for the group through the echoes of club music and ambient patience.
Lichnovský
Musician Zdeněk Lichnovský released his debut album Ideálně napořád last year, where he broke away from the sound of the band Parta vynikajících lidí and added to his art pop direction. The radically sensitive lyrics are underscored by genre diversity, co-production by nevertouche, and the urgent vocals of ivy z. It is in this lineup that he will present songs from his upcoming album, which will be released in January next year.
TMA
Czech electronic musician Tomáš Martínek moves on the edge of experimental electronic music with elements of classical compositions. You can imagine it somewhere halfway between Philip Glass and Actress. Last year, he released three singles and is part of the band Viah.
Tomáš Havlen
For so long, producer and member of the post-music duo Tomáš Havlen kept his songs locked away in a drawer, until they had to come out. This year, he released two catchy singles full of raw emotion in endless conflict with the cold reality of everyday life. His debut album is on the horizon.
nevertouch
Prague-based producer, musician, and DJ Martin Nouza made his debut this year with the album všechno bude ok (everything will be okay). Thanks to his calm vocals and introspective lyrics, he has moved from purely instrumental club music to the genre of dance songwriting. Little stories of everyday life in Karlín in the freshest sound package.
Dominik Zezula
The taller, more outspoken and lyrical member of the duo post-hudba is preparing a solo album. You will hear samples from it and possibly also pieces from other projects such as Děti mezi reprákama and Ministerstvo popu, accompanied by minimalist acoustic guitar. There will be stories with choruses.
