CFF:
Symposium Stories of Change: Theater in Times of Climate Crisis

EN friendly Culture for Future free entry Registration
How can environmental themes be reflected in theater productions? What is climate dramaturgy, and what stories about climate change are we telling through theater? Come to the Stories of Change symposium to listen, share, and be inspired by international guests and domestic practices.

The program begins at 3:00 PM with the workshop “Climate Dramaturgy: Making Theatre in the Context of the Climate Crisis,” led by director Zoe Svendsen (METIS, London). Climate dramaturgy views the climate crisis as the foundational framework for all artistic and practical decisions—so this workshop is not intended solely for dramaturgs. It will be held in English and capacity is limited; therefore, please be sure to register in advance.

The evening program begins at 6:00 PM with a keynote titled “Rehearsing a Desirable Future” by playwright Chantal Bilodeau (Arts & Climate Initiative) on how stories about the climate crisis shape the future we want to live in. This will be followed by a presentation by dramaturg Milo Juráni on climate storytelling, a preview of the winning text from our open call, *Hra o Zemi* by Gabriela Gabašová, and we will conclude the evening with a discussion sharing both good and problematic practices, featuring director Ivan Buraj, dramaturg Johana Bártová, and a representative from the National Theater. Actress Alžběta Nováková will host the evening.
