Studio ALTA – Young Generations in Cultural Institutions
The panel discussion “Young Generations in Cultural Institutions” will present several different models: Young Panel/Young Board at VIERNULVIER as a critical think tank within the organization; Young Creators as part of EHMK České Budějovice 2028 as a space for youth initiatives and projects; the PLÁCEK festival as a platform for introducing contemporary theater to high school students and involving them in creative processes; the INSIDE program of the Divadelní svět Brno festival, featuring a team of high school students gaining access to the festival’s backstage operations and programming, and Archa+, which has long sought ways to serve as an open platform for young audiences and emerging creators, giving them space not only on stage but also in shaping the program and the institution itself.
In the discussion with our guests, we will examine what these individual models mean in practice: what competencies and mandate young people have, how collaboration between teams across generations is structured, how support and mentorship are provided, and what needs to change within the institution so that their involvement is not merely symbolic.
The panel is intended for cultural workers, students, and anyone thinking about how to build institutions that truly share responsibility, a voice, and decision-making power with younger generations.
The discussion will be held in English.
