Debata pro loutky:
ARE YOU GAY?

debate
Debate for puppets is back in ARCHA+!

Don’t even worry about it. We’re all looking for our own little bubbles here—we feel safe in them and try not to step outside them at all. “Homosexuals will try to legalize sex with children,” the lawmaker emphasized. Can you spot the guilty ones—gay politicians in the closet?
“Pervert, fetishist, pedophile, autogynephile,” said a member of the Government Council for Human Rights about a woman. The woman defended herself against him: “A long time ago, he deliberately misled his doctors so they would allow him to undergo the transition he went through.”
Above all, we must “ensure the healthy development of children.”
“If I had been adopted by a same-sex couple as a little boy, I’d rather jump out the window,” said the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies. How far is society’s radicalization regarding LGBTQ+ people leading us?
There is no category for queerphobic violence in police statistics at all. Does that bother you?
Come to an evening debate with anonymous panelists as part of the Mezipatra festival on the topic of the rise in hateful and offensive speech directed at the LGBTQ+ community.

The summary consists of quotes from various news reports on the topic.

In addition to standard tickets, you’ll also find tickets in the “I Support ARCHU+” category, priced at 750 CZK, 1,000 CZK, or 2,000 CZK. These are for those who are able and willing to help us take our venue a step further at this time. The cultural sector isn’t having the easiest time right now, and every bit of support like this is a huge motivator for us. At the same time, though, we know that not everyone can afford it. What matters most to us is that we all get to come together here.

DEBATA PRO LOUTKY (Debate for Puppets) is a project and now a collective that originated at DAMU and moved in June to a new cultural space dedicated to young adult audiences, ARCHA+. It is a debate project based on the secret identities of individual guests. We are interested in how much a person is influenced in communication by the awareness of who they are talking to. Whether based on what they say, how they behave, or even what they look like. Therefore, neither the audience nor the debate moderator knows the identity of the guests, which opens up space for discussion without prejudice and with greater openness.

Each guest is given an "avatar" or alter ego—a puppet that will perform in their place that evening. The puppet is neutral, has no recognizable character, and thus allows the audience to form an opinion of the debater based solely on their reasoning and attitudes. For this reason, the format is called Debate for Puppets.
