Burkicom:
The Sun

dance EN friendly Tickets
The contemporary physical theatre company Burkicom will present their new work The Sun, an apocalyptic science fiction about humanity, an image of the end we wish to experience.

In an intangible, visually captivating world of the most colourful dreams with excellent filters, we seek hidden points of emotions. Together with the team behind the script of the award-winning performance “The Island!” we ventured into the world of sci-fi in contemporary society. Facing our own avatars, we look into the eyes of the end of the world. In the name of humanity, we welcome humanoids, seeking our reflection in their data-driven eyes. A new evolution begins. A society that does not know selfishness. Artificial intelligence. An aggregation of data more human than a human.

“Artificial intelligence, the pinnacle of our technological achievements, was created by people to serve us. Each time we open Spotify or iMusic, AI learns more about us, catering to our needs and desires, while confining us to a predictable world. With the purest intentions and fear of misuse, we have imprinted significantly positive human qualities into AI – humility, a desire to understand, to comply. We have projected our ideal selves onto machines, crafting tools to reflect who we aspire to be. But what if these learning machines become more human than us? What if they outlast us?”
