From the club to the bleep: the relationship between production and DJing – a commented listening session of the work of producers Domizako & Martyyna. With host Timon Láska, they will explore the rising trend of DJs creating their own electronic music projects.

In recent years, we have seen female artists in the club scene moving from the DJ booth environment towards producing their own electronic music projects. What is behind this trend? Is it a natural artistic evolution or a result of necessity? Does the dynamic, competitive environment of club culture play a role in this transition? And how can the roles of DJ and producer influence each other? These and other topics will be discussed by the leading Prague DJs and producers Domizako and Martyyna in the third part of the listening series Bleep under the auspices of ARCHA+, which will also include a commented listening to the work of both producers. Moderated by cultural publicist Timon Láska.


Bleep is a new series of music listening sessions with guest speakers. They are accompanied by discussions or dramaturgical introductions that contextualize the music listened to. We invite experts and professionals, or members of the music labels themselves, who then present the music. Expect a relaxed atmosphere, cushions, loungers, rugs or aromatic oils.


Martyyna

Martyyna is one of the longest-running DJs in Prague's club culture. She is the co-founder of the KSK collective and club events, where she also learned to DJ, and the architectural research hub Illegal Taipei. Her production mixes influences of deconstruction, broken beats and celestial vocals. She released her first EP Awaken in 2020, has collaborated with producers Slikback and Comechelet, and has contributed to numerous compilations. This year, she released her first full-length album Written in the Scars on Mexican label Infinite Machine. Martyyna cleverly subverts the cliché that our destiny is written in the stars. Instead, she explores the idea that our life stories are defined by our emotional scars and our journey to embrace them.

Domizako

Domizako is a Dj and Producer from Slovakia and part of Gravity Network project. Opting for independence and the freedom of self expression, she began to explore and find herself in Prague club culture. In her mix she seeks for the cool spot between tracks that are connected not by genre but vibe and style. Her music is mostly an atmosphere combining Latin sounds with electronic music and deconstructed vocals, which is confirmed by her latest tracks on the VA compilation for YUKU and Amphibian label.
