Carpenter Brut

music EN friendly
The inspirations for Carpenter Brut are clear: synths, the eighties and the aesthetics of horror filmmakers like Dario Argento and John Carpenter. And so it's no wonder that his indulgent production fuses music scenes from fan metal to electronica.

Carpenter Brut's stylistic divergence is beautifully illustrated by the cover of Eyes Without a Face - the original author is Billy Idol and the guest on the track is Krystoffer Rygg from Norway's Ulver, who have made their way from black metal to synth pop. Carpenter Brut draws from similar roots, its darksynth encapsulating the alluring darkness of a colourful apocalypse. He has found favour not only in 80s slashers, but also in the occult.

His albums are a tribute to the aesthetics of videotapes, taking from metal its rawness, from electronica its dance energy. And it all goes hand in hand with visuals that are more than just an accessory. It's that strong visual aesthetic that helps make his live performances memorable. After all, audiences from Hellfest to Coachella know this. If Stephen King were composing synth music, it would sound like this.

Tickets (890 crowns) will be available on the organizer's website after registration to Fource Friends from June 26, going on public sale (GoOut, Ticketmaster) a day later.
