CFF Green Screen:
Olympic Halftime

film discussion
Topics for the future on screen and on stage. A series of documentary film screenings under the auspices of People in Need and the One World Festival will present a film about the unsustainability of the Olympic Games. Organised by Culture for Future.

Haruna Honcoop's Olympic Halftime explores the legacy of the Beijing, Tokyo and Paris Olympics, cities that have either already experienced the Olympics or are in the "half-time" of preparing for the upcoming Olympics.

Over a period of five years, with references to the past, it traces the impact on the urban fabric of cities in the form of stadiums. They often lie fallow completely after the three-week holiday, when athletes from all over the world leave them, or at best continue to be used and in the eventually find other uses.

Do the gigantic structures of the Olympics have a lasting use? What are the benefits of the Olympics for the host cities and their countries? Is hosting the Olympics sustainable from an urban and economic point of view?

Following the screening a discussion with the maker of the documentary Haruna Honcoop is scheduled.

The event is free, but due to limited capacity, registration is required.

Small Auditorium, free seating.
